I listened to Gary Taubes' book "The Case Against Sugar" on our Thanksgiving road trip and was impressed by Gary's extensive overview of how sugar transitioned from being a couple-times-a-year treat to an in-everything-commodity, as well as how the tobacco and food industries used sugar to hook all of us and mask a litany of unhealthy stuff.
